    A-Body A-833 in an E-Body?

The T/A should have the same number of splines (23) as an A body A833. Only the 440 and 6 Pack/Hemi got the bigger 18 spline. But the extension housing on the gearbox is shorter and the shifter mounts are up closer to the firewall so it will not bolt straight in. Unless you have what i have...

BTW, i'm looking at that last picture, is that your Chal... can't work out where the windscreen goes, the roof line looks like its going backwards if that is the driver side (LHS), also its seems a strange colour, faded pastel green looks like

Hey Russ, well it looks like Redcuda has fallen asleep but i'll just say thanks for those great photos and all that info on the mirrors, i certainly DID NOT know all that! wow, Chrysler certainly did things differently didn;t they! I had no idea the mirrors were designed to be different on...

    T/A Rear Springs

Not sure that is entirely correct, i am pretty sure only the Hemi and 6Pack got unequal springs, with the 7 being on the RHS. Maybe 383,440 got the 6 leaves as mandatory but the LA engine models and Slant 6 in the 70-71 had only 4 leaves. I have two Challengers, a 71 318 Slapstik H code and a...

Gday mate, yeah the mirrors...there must be about 4 different types. As usual the 70's are different in many respects to the later models. Many later B body (71 Charger, RR Satellite sport etc) had these types of mirrors too so often they were used in place when the 70 mirrors were rather...

    Hi From Oz

Thanks for that Russ. 800km is still a nice little trip though, just what the doctor ordered for a road test cruise

    Hi From Oz

HI Russ, thanks for the reply, do you have that silver 70 Chal? it looks good from what i can see. I have done the Sydney to Gosford run heaps of times as i used to live in Novoland. Its a good trip and would be good for sorting out your Chal's touring aspect. Do they still have the 5km speedo...

    71 Challenger tail panel Q's

To answer my own post: I have been told the best course of action for the rivet is to clean out the area between the mating surfaces and use a high quality flexible bonding agent such as SicaFlex 260. This will keep the edges tight together after it is all bolted in it will be as new. As for...

    71 Challenger tail panel Q's

Have two questions about my tail panel -see pics. One of the two swaged rivets holding the halves together has come apart. Since the 'rivet' is part of the panel molding, how can i fix this without it showing on the facing side? I can't think of any way except drilling a hole, re-doing it and...

How to install 73 challenger rear valance

Yeah, if i didn't know what year valance i had and didn't know the differences between years, i would be lost on this as well! The 70 was quite unique in many areas compared to the others

    Hi From Oz

HI, here's some pics of my Chal's. Note the Aussie desert trip. Pic of the dash shows cruising along, 85mph at 3000rpm. Yes it was a tall diff (2.76 ratio), just right for the long haul, 5000km coast to coast. I took it up as much as i dared with a fully loaded car. I got to 130 mph indicated...

    repairing 73 Cuda's tail lense

You mean remove from the bezel? Of course, if it was put in then it can be taken out also. Just have to be careful not to damage the lens. It shoudn't be glued, there should be a thin foam type gasket between the two. I would first practice on the set with the damaged lens, to see how it fits...

71 Challenger tail bezel paint colour

Thanks for looking Burdar, my first thought was Argent as well. Thats looking at other cars' pictures. Except mine has lost most of the paint and looks like it is right down to the base coat of whatever colour it was. I did see that post on Moparts, its quite comprehensive. I'm a bit worried...

71 Challenger tail bezel paint colour

Hi there - does anyone know what colour the inside and rim of the taillight bezel should be on a 71 Chal? See pictures with the arrows. I had a close look at mine - it is a strange colour, it looks like an off-white, or a dirty ceramic colour. Like a base silver without the silver glint, if...

    Hi From Oz

HI, just joined the forum, i live in sunny Perth (too sunny sometimes) on the Wild West Coast of Australia. I have 2 of your fine model Dodge's, a 73 340 Rallye 4 speed and a 71 Challenger (ex 318 Slapstik HP code, Dark Green Metallic) undergoing resto to an RT clone (Plum Crazy, black vinyl...
