8-3/4 rear end. Which rear drums to use

I'm resigned to using rear drums for now and I lost my 10" rear drums in our last move. Can I use 11" with no consequences? As long as I purchase the new pads etc. obviously. Anything else i se I need to know or consider? I've got front disc with adjustable proportioning valve. Thanks...

    Challenger (71) Suspension

Make offer if interested in anything.... - Two UCA's with new (unused) Moog Ball Joints and Moog UCA bushings. Ball joints fell 15 ft lbs short of taking full recommended torque so will have to be welded or re-threaded...felt like a shame to throw away though. Clean units otherwise. Make...

    73 Cuda Front End Surprises.

Fantastic! Just got done with all that and am sure you'll be fine. Seems like you've got it under control. Only thing I could suggest is plan your work, then work your plan. I had a "well, since I'm down here" project that took me over a year by adding and mulling different options. I wound...

prothane polyurethane torsion bar dust boot problems

Ya water is the way. I put mine in a large cup then threw it in the microwave for a couple minutes. Was able to carry it right out to the car in my gloves and slipped them right on by hand. What a nightmare prior to that tho...was ready to give up just like you moparmaniac!

    6 yr engine restart

Good advice, thanks. Wasnt planning on replacing the fuel pump since it's been garaged but probably wouldnt hurt to check that out. Guess I should take my time and go over stuff...just anxious to throw some gas in and turn the key already, ya know? Been a while. What's the rationale for...

    6 yr engine restart

Cars finally ready to come back to life but want to check with the FEBO folks first. Engine has been sitting for 6 years, no oil and trace of gas. Main concern is gas. Hoping for "easy" way to ensure I don't do damage running varnish through the engine. Can I get away with filling my tank...

Does the Hotchkis TVS require any welding to install.

The subframe connectors and rear sway bar do. So does the front if you dont have the tabs. Even still they tell you to cut your skid plate and reweld it in order to install the front bar. If you go to their website they have all of the instruction manuals there for each component that will...

    73 brakes on 71 Challenger

I'm looking for the darn positioner clips for the stock caliper. Any clues? I found some for $35 (!!!) but read I might not even need them....is that right? Seems like they are the only thing holding the pins in place.

    Hotchkis suspension upgrade kits

Wow, rad! Yes not lookng forward disasembling them...just had to take my best guess. You have the tie rid sleeves and strut rods I want (not to mention the brakes!) but I'm getting there. Running stock sleeves and rods until I can save up. Just got it on the ground today too and must have...

    73 brakes on 71 Challenger

The inner seal is definitely bigger but the bearings look the same. My calipers are set to go to the rear of the spindle so I guess I'll leave it that way. Glad everything will still work! Got the return for the 71 rotors approved and will order the 73's. Much cheaper too. Calipers come up...

    73 brakes on 71 Challenger

I've had some spindles laying around to convert my 71 challenger to disc for some time and am finally getting around to it. when I went to install the wheel seals for my new '71 style rotors, they wouldnt fit. long story short, I found I have '73 spindles and need to get '73 rotors, seals...

    Hotchkis suspension upgrade kits

Thanks for the tip. Reminds me of a similar saying, "you get what you pay for". I was high on PST and ready to order a front end kit from them, but they couldnt tell me what brand of parts (ball joints, tie rods, etc.) they used in their kits and that worried me. I love their marketing and...

    Ball Joint Help

Thanks for mentioning Magnum Force. Looks like a good place for drop spindles if I need to go that way. Looks to be lots of other cool stuff too. I felt comfortable with Hotchkis and liked the way they marketed everything. Made it easy for a guy like me to easily SEE what my results will be...

    Ball Joint Help

You're right, i'm not using a washer on these. Either way the castle nut and zerk fitting were wrong. Castle nut is easy but couldnt seem to find thread cutting fittings locally. Matters none at this point though....when I got replacements my mechanic buddy did me a "favor" & torqued my uppper...

    Hotchkis suspension upgrade kits

I checked Summit and they have pretty good deals and it all ships for free. Getting the rear spings and sway bar along with some other stuff. My UCA's wont take the full torque needed for the ball joints so am upgrading to the Hotchkis version of those too. Bummer that my originals are trashed...

    Hotchkis suspension upgrade kits

Cool, thanks for the info. The Hotchkis stuff looks killer. Will check out places other than Hotchkis to buy it...didnt think they were sold through resellers. Sweet!

    Ball Joint Help

no probelms getting them replaced from rock auto. they were very nice. i did find another issue though....the washer and nut for one of the replacement ball joints was the wrong size. I dont know if they buy surplus stuff or what but seems like a lot of issues for such a simple order. maybe...
