Installing a trans in the old days by yourself; the way we old timers had to do it!

As a youngster, I put in a clutch disc backwards, oops.

Installing a trans in the old days by yourself; the way we old timers had to do it!

I have done something similar except I didn't tighten the pressure plate bolts all the way, just enough to keep the disc in place but still allow the disc to move around a bit. After the tranny was in, I would rotate the engine to tighten the pressure plate bolts.

Driveshaft U joint strap-large yoke H stamped with date

A guy restoring a Superbird was looking for a pair of date stamped straps like above. I had a couple of sets in a junk bolt bucket. Unbelievably I had the exact date he was looking for. I only asked 15 bucks for them, being nice. They guy doubled the money, nice guy!

    fuel line shield 71 cuda

My 71 is missing this shield. Any chance you could take some measurements of the piece as it looks pretty straightforward to make one. You could take a couple of pictures of it with a ruler next to it and I can figure out all the other measurements based on the pictures. Thanks.

    Small block idler pulley

I have a 74 Cuda with AC and manual steering. It has a redneck engineered idler pully in place of the power steering pump pulley. Does anyone have a picture of the stock idler pulley bracket for a small block they can share with me, preferably a picture on the engine would be helpful. Thanks!

Need help with registering a Restomod in California

Look up how to register the car in Vermont. They have very lax requirements, and you don't have to be a Vermont resident. Once you have the title in hand, you can transfer it to CA.

    Dutchman/Filler Panel Install

My dutchman panel set high relative to the quarter panel on the driver's side. I cut several slits in the flange on the dutchman panel. This allowed me to gently press down on the panel to make it flush and then welded it in. I welded the slits together as well. The pic is the final look.

Steering column too short for gear box

Short answer: the column has two shafts, the shaft connecting to your steering box will slide out from the other one. Although sometimes it can get rusty inside there and be difficult to move in and out.

    Fuel Mix/ idling issues...

Don’t rule out ignition. A weak spark can mimic carb issues.

    440-6 vacuum advance line

I had a similar situation, I epoxied a short section of brake line into the hole making sure to not plug the vacuum port up. When the hose was attached, you could not tell the difference.
