I use B head bolts with the head cut off to align tranny. When I tried getting that 4 speed in, I could only lift the front on to the bellhousing and that was it. Couldn't lift the back to get it in there. Now my good friend Jack does all the heavy lifting.

On my 74 318 Duster and 71 Hemi Cuda, starter is far enough away from steering box. Although both cars have the Borgeson box, I don't think it is impeded, starter, by the stock PS box.
What engine, and do you know why gasket is leaking? Usually an overheat, or maybe cheap gasket. If you tell us, may help someone else from making same mistake.

I would think the workers wouldn't have access to the O's and I's because they know somebody would incorrectly use them. Could it be workers playing games? Anything is possible, maybe an April 1st Vin.
I don't know what car were talking about beside an E body, maybe you have the wrong receiver that accepts the latch. The other basic thing is make sure the receiver is open to accept the striker, which is the loop.
