1970 barracuda convertible
original top and interior except carpet and console. originally a column shift - includes original column. last painted in the early 70s.
first owner leased the car from 70 to 72. In 72 bought by a stock broker in Olympia Washington who owned it from 72-2002. He bought the reissue 57 style thunderbird and needed the garage spot. They typically bought a new car every couple of years and sold the last one but the barracuda is the one they kept.
Additions to the car are 8.75 rear with 2.76 open gear. Originally had the smaller rear end (don't remember what it was though). KYB shocks all around. Added the 71-72 rallye mirrors. Added console shift. Converted to front disc brakes. Upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, idler arm all replaced in 2005-2006. Radiator was originally smaller one, i believe 16 or 18 inch & upgraded to 22 inch (with 7 blade 246 fan and original radiator shroud) done by glen ray radiator. Early 340 exhaust manifolds with nos exhaust tips (not the new repro). added electronic ignition. Late model 904 trans that has partial kickdown with less than 1000 miles. Original matching number trans case comes with car. Block is matching numbers. heads replaced with 85 cop 318 heads, originals come with car. reproduction rallye wheels (i believe by wheel vintiques but couldnt find name on them). rebuilt rear brakes within last 100 miles. car includes original air cleaner and chrome driver side remote mirror.

car developed rod knock in 2003 and a crank kit with new crank, rod and main bearings installed along with high volume oil pump. 268 cam installed in 2005. Rings are original and likely need replacing as its starting to smoke. Demon carburetor on LD340 intake. Started to smoke and could be valve seals, egr, new carb, some gas from sitting in garage for 10 years, or someting. Perfect canidate for a swap or upgraded hemi engine.
