I'm always searching for this hard to find option.
M46 Simulated side scoops.
This option is only available on Bh coded 1970 only barracuda's. Not BS or BP.
I will always entertain the purchase of a full car.
However I am always interested in Broadcast sheets, fender tags or the actual scoops!
If I can't buy or trade for the actual items I am also looking for the pictures and proof of the cars.
I don't have a webpage registry, yet. But I do track every known example I can find.
Currently I have 23 known to exist or known to have existed cars.

Please, any information is greatly appreciated!

Since I'm at about 1K posts I figure I should include this over here instead of just checking multiple times a day for one to pop up.
These three pictures are of the 3 M46's that I own. All Rot box's.

And so it is known, This information is available to us hobbyists.
I will not hold the information to myself. I want to share this information so these cars are not lost.
All too often these BH coded cars are cut up and used to rebuild the "better" BS coded cars.

Any info is appreciated!

Not currently. Scott Harms had a limited run and they sold out pretty quick as I have been told. Don't quote me on that, but it's been some years since he reproduced them.
I have the originals he reproduced from.

I figured there would be some here that have not seen them.
Please understand that they are rare, but not valuable per say.
I think I'm the only person in America that is looking for them.
this wanted post is as much about information sharing as it is finding one.

I really like that lower black/stripe accent and how it all blends in with the front and rear valances and tail panel. Those scoops do make good mud and gravel collectors:lol:.

They definitely hold mud and make a lot of rust.
The grill would have been a painted black grill or it would have been one of the black plastic grills that came in the aar's.
Tail panel is blacked out also.
Supposedly, the parts info says there was an option for a blue and white stripe instead of the red and white.
Never seen even a picture of a blue and white.

Cuda Hunter - Great idea to start an M46 Registry.
(I have organized an A66 Challenger Registry to get some stats organized)
Hope you start one up!

Some stats I had on M46 cars;
Engines available for M46 Barracuda are:
N code: E63 383-4 barrel
L code: E61 383-2 Barrel
G code: E44 318-2 Barrel
C code: E24 225-1 Barrel

383 Barracuda numbers all together for 1970 were only 722 383-2 barrels
1,118 383-4 barrel cars built for 'Cuda & Barracuda total
318 production was 15,356 for Barracuda
4,695 total Barracudas with a slant 6.

Out of all those cars (21,891) only 433 M46 cars produced

415 M46 were V8.
Total of 15 M46 Convertibles.

Well I hope it's not just one more thing. The more talk we have the more likely someone else will chime in.
There were two variations of the scoops. Let me see if I can find the pictures.

I used to own one of the M46 cars on the list, I still have the grille and header panel from it hanging in my basement. It's not black it's argent as are the headlight doors. Maybe because it was FY1? maybe accident replacement? maybe early LA production?
I have no idea if it's the original grille to the car but I removed it in 1991 and the car had sat for quite some time before then.
It was a very early LA built car and the floor shifter was called a " Shift command " not slap stick.
More possibly odd stuff from mother mopar!

I do believe that the earlier cars had the argent grills. Most M46's were early cars as you can see on my other post with the SPD's.
However I've seen a few black ones as well. That's a detail that is a hard one to nail down. Not many original examples of these cars. I do believe there were many aar's that had the argents that were painted black as well.

And it does seem that a lot of the earlier cars also got the Shift Command shifter. Thanks for the info Ken.

There is a metal backed and aluminum backed with a rubber substance kinda like the front bumpers. So elastomeric.
the repro's are plastic.
I can't find the pics so when I return home next week I will get some pics.
