Hi!
I need some guidance regarding the following items concerning my 1970 CUDA 440 EFI:

A) ENGINE

1) My engine no. is 25364309 and my search indicates that this engine was manufactured on 29/02/69.
2) My search on the vehicle tells me that the car was produce with a 383 C.I.

Considering that the motor in the car is a 440 manufactured in 69 - I think that my car will qualify as a "code correct".

Please confirm this as this will help me documentaing the car.

B) IFI issues

1) I'm in the process of getting ths system tune up (version 1).
2) I'm told that I will get better results in getting the Intake cut in the middle to make it a single plane.
3) Al so I'm told to add a spacer to the Intake to help getting a better flow of gaz and some more HP

Please confirm this.

Thanks a million!

The EFI system makes a Huge difference , Multiport EFI doesn't care about fuel suspension in the air flow so A large throttle body & wide open intake works great as all you are moving is air .
A Throttle body injection is completely different the fuel is added into the air flow & travels through the intake although with better atomization the air still carries fuel & works similar to a carb.
IMO there is only 1 correct motor for your car , if I was buying your car with a 440 in it but delivered as a 383 the motor is not correct no matter what the date is .

If it has a stock or dual plane intake on it, put a 1" open spacer under the throttle body injection unit. This is more for the map sensor signal than anything else. What is the 5 digit in your VIN? That determines engine, not dates.

Only the original engine is code correct. Some will use the term date correct, I don't know why that makes a difference personally. I guess it makes some people feel better.

Only the original numbers matching engine is code correct as mentioned above. Your 440 built on February 29, 1969 doesn't make sense as 1969 was not a leap year (year must be divisible by 4). To be "date" correct, I would think the block would have to be cast after July 1969.

Regarding EFI, you didn't give us much to go on. Multiport? Throttle body? Assuming throttle body, NxCoupe had you covered. Any milling of the dividing wall will really only add benefits above 6000rpm. How much are you planning to wind this 440?
