Hello. I'm searching for 1973 Challenger rear bumper brackets. AMD does not appear to have brackets for the 73 model. These are 18" long and 4.75" in height. Can anyone point me to another resource to find these brackets? Thanks!

I can check my parts.
I have some factory front and rear bumpers, brackets and bumper gards. You just need rear brackets only ?
Yes. As you can see, mine are pretty rusty, don't think I could trust putting them back on the car. I weighed the entire bumper assembly at about 41 pounds, and going over bumps they might snap off. I just need a pair, left and right side. The bumper backing plate is not in the best condition, either. But I think I can clean up the welds, and it can be saved. Thank you.

Unfortunately I just scrapped these these exact brackets last week for a nickel a pound. Entirely rust free. I had posted the bumpers for sale here and didn't receive any interest so off to the recycling center they went. Bummer...

Thanks. I'll keep looking. Worst case would be to have some made. I believe they are 3/16" thick, so shouldn't be too difficult to bend. The tough part would be getting the asymmetrical bends to match up correctly for the 4.75" height. Maybe I could find someone local that's good with an anvil.

I'm going by memory. I believe you have the 74 rear bumper set up. 73 brackets look like these.

Hmm. Could be. I just purchased this car in April from a gal that wasn't all that technical. A lot of unanswered questions if you know what I mean. Would you know if these brackets have a 4.75" rise?

Here are some pics of the bumper bracket and reinforcement/mounting plate.
Look up part numbers # 3686582 and 368583 you will find it is the factory number for 1973 Challenger rear bumper Brackets.
And this is the Factory 1973 bumper reinforcement plate
The items that you have are for 1974.

I’ll pull the chrome shell off the plate and take a closer look when get back home. I’m currently in Iowa visiting the folks.

Great. looks like those might have been removed before. Dodge used a large washer on the bumper parts for better strength and support.
I also have a new front bumper for that as well. Still in the wrapping paper as well as many other Challenger interior and electrical parts, New chrome headlight rings etc...
Check my add for challenger parts

i think i have what your looking for, tried to post pics to no avail
me and technology....

The "rise" or distance from the car to the bumper are the same between '73 and '74. Both years use the same filler panels. I have the complete rear bumper and brackets off my '74. The car came out of Alabama so they're not in bad shape. I'll dig it out tomorrow and get pictures.
