I am reaching out again for help from our Mopar friends. I have posted this before but I am reposting it again in hopes of someone that might have information or can help me in searching for this lost block. Im looking for the original 440 engine for my 71 Charger R/T. I would be very Grateful if you could please have a look at your 440 if it is not original to your car or any block sitting around in your stash. This block is unique in that the last three serial number digits were cold chiseled off the block. ( story is a Chrysler mechanic wanted to keep the block at the time as it was under warranty ) All that remains along the oil pan rail is A1 139 - - -. ( missing is 640 )The Casting date is probably between May and August 1970 time frame. Cars build date was Dec. 9, 1970. The block reportedly sold at the Portland swap meet in the 90's sometime. it was last seen several years ago in the Seattle Wa. area but no info after that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will pay an awesome cash finders fee as well.
