As I mentioned in my "I wanna" post, I am looking for a E Body, and know nothing about their details and issues. So, Here is my first question. In looking at cars as prospects what should I look for in rust or problem area's? In the upper Midwest (salt belt) MOST of the time but not all. From the top to the window belt line is usually OK, unless it had a vinyl top or REALLY abused and neglected and I would not be looking at those. I would be looking at running driving presentable cars not projects or show cars. As a long time hobbyist. I can spot poor body work or sloppy mud slinging from ten feet, from up close I can spot a bondo buggy crook easily. Inner rockers and trunk wells are a certainty. Torsion bar and rear upper shock mounts as well. Door/hood trunk gaps I suppose. Anything I should know as I shop?

Besides all the spots you mentioned, front windshield lower areas( usually under the trim) down the cowl and around the hood hinges are also prone to rot. Also the obvious trunk area
