Someone that done restoration on a number of mopars said: You will go all out and get 80% or more done.Than it will be a little of this and a little of that. And it seems like the 20% takes just as long as the 80%. He was right. But anyhow very nice job!!! Pictures of the inside?

Your 340 Decals look great.
I also have an early A66 decal car; I still have my faded originals on the hood that I will eventually replace.

The A66 package was a late addition to the 70 Challenger lineup. Ma Mopar originally planned to not offer the 340 in the Challenger. The A66 package was not formally available until October. No metal 340 callouts were available yet and the decals were quickly made as callouts and used in production September/October through about December when the metal emblems finally became available.
The 340 decals had a factory part number (thanks to DetMatt for this pic)

I would not mind getting a pair of the 340 decals for my A66 if I ever decide to put the stock R/T style hood back on. For now my hood has a big hole in the center and 426 call outs.

The decals were used on the early A66 Challengers, October through about November/December when the metal emblems became available. My SPD was 10/7. Remember, the A66 Challengers were not formally available for delivery until early October, 1969.
Your car should have had the decals. Also your car should have the RT hood with no crush zones (if original) with such an early car.
Approximately when were these used and when were they replaced by the more common metal ones? What is the SPD of your car? Mine is 10/27, my original hood has no holes in it for the metal nameplates, so I'm assuming it came with the decals.

I think we have one A66 Challenger in the A66 Registry with a 9/29 SPD. I would have to to the Registry and check

The hood has no crumple zones.
