What is the difference between 70 challenger fenders and the other year challengers.

Almost everything
70 / 71 share the same side lights & headlight mounts
71 has an extra notch at the front above the headlights the front chrome strip is different
72-74 have different sidelights & no provision to mount headlights as they are part of the grille assy
Any year will bolt on tho

There were also three different 70 only fenders. Standard with 14" wheels, wider fenders with 15" wheels and the AARs/TAs had fender widths between the 14" and 15"! The difference in width is in the area of the wheel well. I'm not sure we as a group on this forum have figured out exactly which fender the after market is reproducing. Others will chime in!

Follow the line at the top of each fender. And compare to the line in the side of the fender known to all E-Bodies. Notice the fender on the left in the above photo is more rounded than the fender on the right over the wheel opening? Left is 15" fender, right is 14". Does that help?

regarding the question of aftermarket..go with AMD.
Basically, yes. Your body show will likely identify some fitment inconsistencies. They aren't originals, so there are some small areas (gaps for door or hood, for example) that may need some tweaking.
That also depends on what level of fitment you want/expect.
Originals are hard to find and costly. 70 or 71 versions being a premium. If you're looking for 72-74 there is a higher chance of getting originals.
