'71 383 block/main caps, crank, rods/pistons, bare heads.

VIN is 1E137890

#s on top pad are:

G383
11 16 2

Block Casting date is: 11/3/70

The heads are "346" castings.

The block appears to be standard bore, as several of the pistons are factory .002" oversize with a "C" stamp on top (pistons not reusable). I don't have micrometers/bore gauge to check.
The block, crank and heads have all been cleaned, don't know if the guy had them magnafluxed or not.
I haven't done anything to the engine, as the project came to a grinding halt do to the car rust issues.

I just want to get back my $350 that I paid for it...

Chuck

What happened to the project? I've brought a couple back from death. Looking for a 71 Cuda that's a builder. Doesn't hurt to ask...

I bought the engine thinking I wanted to try to bring the car back, but after researching all the metal it needed, I determined it wasn't worth it. Pieces have been sold off it since, not much left. If you want pics look on Los Angeles, Ca craigslist...if you cant find it, send me your email and I'll send you pics. Car was in a major front end accident, parted out sitting in a wrecking yard, roof cut off, etc., totally stripped, no dash tag or radiator support numbers, only cowl #s, no title.
Was GB5 Blue, black bucket seat interior, A/C, 383, console auto, billboard, rallye gauges, 11" drum brake car. Was a sweet car originally. I'm selling the hulk for $400 if you're interested...
