POTENTIAL IS AS GOOD AS INTENTIONS.
GOOD FOR NOTHING.
JMHO

I think it is a bit pricey, but:
It is a 71 Cuda, which is a year that has somewhat of a following,
It is a factory shaker car, which is rare and often sought out,
& the 4 speed makes it a bit more desirable.
It also has the factory leather interior, factory am-fm and the rallye dash was ordered.
It is also coded for a rear sway bar.
It also has the original fender tag and build sheet, and has some NOS sheet metal with the car.
It was optioned out nicely when new!
This Cuda needs someone with an account at AMD and good welding skills.

Downside
: Repairing the body rust, and the car has a non -original drive train, though model year correct.
It would be a cool car if someone restored it. I think it would have to sell for less money though.
Hate to see a cool car just sit.
Just my thoughts on this car.

Its a great car to restore for sure. I think the price is a little high with the amount of rust and missing shaker stuff.
If it had the original drivetrain, then it would be a great deal!

Original drivetrain has very little impact on the value of anything but a hemi or 440-6 barrel car.
Four speed, Shaker 71 Cudas do not grow on trees anymore. Numbers matching is a bonus to me. Numbers matching is too often relied upon when there are other variables to be considered. For example take two identical 71 340 Cudas except one is numbers matching automatic and the other is non numbers 4 speed. Most people would take the 4 speed if given the chance.

I would agree to a 318 car that the original drive train wouldn't make much difference in price, but when you talk about a 340 shaker it does.

I think we all agree that the car deserves to be restored but in my opinion that's not going to happen until he has a half price sail.

I got my 71 340 4-spd for the right price 12 years ago for 2,500. I knew that it was going to be a long, expensive project, but it was a numbers car, not a shaker but, 340 4-spd, it was worth the time and money but I could not afford 27k to start. It will be a very nice cuda for somebody with deep pockets to put together.

15 - 18k would be a good starting price as it will take 25 - 30k for resto

Shaker car trumps numbers and if this car was available in the low teens it would be gone already.
agreed The hood missing is the deal breaker here. If it had that and maybe a couple of shaker parts, it would have been gone already. It will sell eventually! they didn't make hell of a lot of true shaker 71 cudas! my 2 cents

I bought this car last fall. Where do some of you get your information I'll never know. That's the problem with people posting things they find that are not their s or they have no connection with.
