I am planning on swapping out my rear gears to 273's. What pinion do I need and do you still have it? Also, can I use the original housing?
If you have what I need, please me payment info.

Not sure if Mopar has 2.73 rear end gears. They do have 2.76 gears.

To determine what speedometer pinion you'll need, you have to cross the rear end gear ratio with the actual tire diameter you'll be using. The lowest tooth numbers require their own housing, like the 25. Most others use the same one but require it to be properly positioned, depending on the number. The housing will have the range of tooth numbers and how it's located/clocked cast into it.

You are probably right about the gears. They were given to me; but I have not installed them yet. The stamped part number is 2070741. My tire size is P215/70R14. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,

This chart show your tire to usually be 25.9" tall. (But it can vary a bit by manufacturer. Actual measurement is more accurate.) Round that out to 26" tall with 2.76 gears shows that you would need a 28 tooth speedometer pinion. 29 would be a secondary option.

Make sure your housing has 3 sets of tooth numbers, which should include "28" and "29" in one of the ranges and look up how to properly position the housing with that pinion.

Divide the number of teeth on the ring gear by the teeth on the pinion and you'll have the actual gear ratio to be sure.
