Does anyone have a 727 with a Dana 60? I need the measurement from the end of the transmission tail shaft to the center of the rear U-joint.

I've gathered some pretty detailed (for me, anyway) data on drive shaft lengths, if you're looking to have a drive shaft altered to fit your configuration.

It will help me to know which year and make this is for, and the engine size as the lengths vary between Barracuda and Challenger.

If you have a driveshaft but it's the wrong length, I can sometimes figure out by how much it needs to be shortened.

The driveshaft is measured from the centers of the U-joint holes on either end.

Some of this data comes from the 1970-71 Chrysler Parts Book:

For example, a 440 with 727 and 8.75 rear end measures 43.60-inches on the 1970 Barracuda.

The same 440 with 727, but 9.75 Dana 60 measures 42.60-inches, exactly an inch shorter.

For Challengers, these measurements are 2.00-inches longer.

I have a 72 Challenger that I am putting a 440/727 into. Currently has a 360 w/904. Am replacing the current 8.75 with a Strange 60 (Dana 60). Since it takes around 4 weeks to build, I was hoping to get the measurements and order the driveshaft so it would be ready when the engine is.
