74 Challenger mild restoration

Hi,

Does anyone know what the original color the steering box is on a 74 challenger? Black, or natural metal?

Yours is the same power steering unit that was on my '71 RT and mine had signs of factory original black paint on it so I painted it a gloss black.

Thanks for getting back to me. I've see some painted gloss black and some natural silver color. My car is black, the k member will be chasis black...I was thinking the silver to make it stand out alittle

If you are thinking of going with the natural look, Dupli-Color makes a nice cast iron finish in a spray can. It would be darker than the silver. Your choice though.
