741 open to 742 posi pinion snubber

first off let me thank all of you whom have helped me thus far. I know nothing of mopar stuff (been Pontiac gto last 20 years) anyhow, the pinion snuffer i have from my 741 appears to be way off to do its job on the 742 third member i have installed. is there a different one for the 742? any suggestions :dontknow:

The pinion snubber should be the same.
