Hello, have a 73 360-4bbl challenger. It is hard to start summer or winter. First question, does starting fluid damage the engine?
Using the electric choke or manually does not help even in cold weather. What basic steps should be taken for initial diagnosis?
Thank you

Moparleo is correct, more info will be helpful.

Regarding starter fluid, assuming you are just spraying a couple shots each time, it not going to hurt much. But it really sounds like an accelerator pump/plunger issue.

And make sure you have the right voltage at the coil for start and run. 12 volts at start and 6-8 in the key run position.
