Got the gasket set from Mancini for the 90 degree oil filter adapter. It has the cork gasket which I assume goes on the bolt between the block and adapter. And the thin one goes between the attachment bolt and adapter. Seems strange to have that cork gasket inside there. I now discovered that a few other places seem to have a better than the cork gasket, but the pictures are not as clear as I'd like. Wouldn't the cork break down after time. I'm getting close to priming the motor so I am wanting to do this the best way possible. Rockers on.jpgAny comments would be appreciated.

I would use the cork in that position to allow the cork to compress and allow the adapter to go tight enough to seal the adapter so you don't get an external oil leak.
Been a while and my memory is not so good - there is also a pipe plug to install in the block - 1/4 NPT I think.

i think the thick cork is to seal between the block & the 90 degree housing to stop dirty unfiltered oil blowing back down the thin area between the bolt & the hosing
