Another inquiry about how many FK5 A66 Challengers are in the Registry; Currently, there is a total of 25 FK5 A66 Challengers in the Registry. 17 automatics, 6 4 speeds, and 1 D13 3sp. Interestingly, 14 of these A66's have the H6K4 interiors. 9 have the black X9, 1 with white and 1 with the vinyl/cloth H6K4.
This is out of a total of 235 A66 Challengers in the Registry (with and full or partial data).
Again FK5 was 10.1% of ALL JH23 V-8 production and 9.5% of all JH27 V-8 production. Take the total color percentages for what they are worth!

Another notable data fact from the A66 Challenger Registry; It is rare for any V8 Challengers to have come from the factory with a 3 speed manual trans. A66 Challengers w a 3 speed are even more rare.

In the A66 Registry, we have only 6 total.
4 hardtops and 2 verts.
Total production of 3sp A66 cars were; 343 HT's and only 20 verts.

Date Code Sleuthing; The question comes up frequently of when was my car built?, often in the absence of a data/door plate or sticker.

When I disassembled my A66 vert, I checked for date codes on parts. It gave me a window of assembly for my Scheduled Production Date of A06 (Sept 6th, 1969) build. Please note the following; water pump 8/5/69, 8/23 radiator, 9/9 lft rear window, 9/17 collapse spare, 9/24 rt brake caliper bracket, 9/29 brake balance bar, 10/1 rt lower control arm, 10/9 brake caliper bracket, 10/11 JP Stevens rug sticker, 10/20 K frame, 10/20 radio speaker and 10/22 carrier stenciled date code still on car. This date range on a car with the A06 SPD. Looking for the date codes is a great way to determine a production window for your car. Even better if you have a tag, and or build sheet.
