Hey guys, I just picked up an AAR. I'm going to be restoring it fully.

Right now I'm focusing on interior. I got the dash pad sent off to justdashes for a restore. I got the dash frame mounted to a wood stand I built. I'm tearing down the seats down to the frames.

Awesome.....is it originally white? Will be sharp.....the members on this site are really experts and generous with their advice. Keep sending updates.

Nice find! Looks like it was originally a 4-speed, looking toward pics going forward.

Boxes of parts. Wish I could of been there for the disassembly.....lol

Oh well.

Welcome AAR nice
Much easier doing the dash that way.
I can see you have a selection of Differentials & air con compressors looks like you have started a parts collection for the restore
,

I got the dash broke down tonight. Now I'm gonna wash the parts and see where to start.

Does anybody know what this is. The rusty screw thing. I'm full of dumb B body guy questions... also is the heater panel bezel and other trim on the dash textured. It seems to of had a textured paint but now it rubs off with my fingers.

Oh boy, and it doesn't look like anything is labeled either:(.
Good luck and holler away if you need anything.
Yeah no labels it's like a big puzzle I've been working on my b bodies for over 20 years so I'm no stranger to where mopar parts go but the E body parts are leaving me scratching my head but with you guys I got no fear.

My 71 did not have that funky tube thing on the bezel, looks to be a non-stock add on. I spray my bezel with krinkle paint to replicate the texture.

get the body done first.
your gonna have a 800.00 dash pad hanging around the shop.
you know whats gonna happen.

Welcome to the site. The tube looks like an old aftermarket choke cable housing. 70's had textured paint on the dash parts. Newer cars have the texture cast into the plastic. I don't know a switchover date from paint to cast in the plastic.

Great car. That is one major puzzle you have there. Toughest part is going to be organizing everything to see what you got and what’s missing! Hopefully you have all the hard parts you can’t get. Good luck

Yeah its definitely smooth plastic so it got to be textured paint. Thank you.

An AAR Cuda is a great project and well worth the effort. White with the black AAR hood is a nice combination.
As suggested, do the body work first while you organize and restore components.
I also picked up dollar store food storage bags as I reviewed my parts and labeled them as I needed to. Just a thought.
Glad you joined up; a lot of good people here.
Best of luck with your work on a very cool car!

I am doing my car kind of backwards as I did the dash and rough metal work first and then put the car together so I can drive it and have a little fun. Rod

After a light dusting (enough to get a sheen) I do believe the Krylon Satin will match the interior plastic. The light bezel has the krylon on it, the dash moulding is factory/not painted.
