Found an AAR in really bad shape but we are going to save her. Missing the exhaust manifolds and would
like originals if at all possible. Any out there?

Those manifolds are from a 1969 A-body 340. The manifolds above are very nice and would work, but if you are splitting hairs and truly want the correct 1970 dates and appearance, then you might want to keep looking.
FYI, there was no special AAR or T/A exhaust manifolds. All 1970 340's had the same exhausts manifolds.
The heat riser counter weight change in 1970 and the counter weight on the above ones is the 1968-69 style.

This is the first I’ve heard of a different counter weight. What is the difference? From what I’ve seen, the TA AAR had different exhaust manifolds in the way and location of the part numbers. They were made a at a different casting facility later in the run. The numbers are not raised like the ones in the picture. They are the same numbers, though. They were not unique to AAR and TA cars and can be found on other 340 cars. I’ve got some st the shop I can take a picture of them.

Here are a couple of pictures of the original passenger side manifold off of my 1969 Dart GTS 340.
I also dug up a 1970 and later heat rise counter balance. The 70 and later ones were thicker and the face was different.

Here’s a pic of the “earlier” style weight on a friend’s 4/30/70 SPD survivor Cuda.

Not surprised to find examples of the earlier style weights on 1970 models.
This might be some sticker shock, but I just fond this on ebay.

Hmm, all of what I remember seeing have the later style as you are calling it. Those manifolds posted on eBay are expensive to say the least. The ones I have are much nicer. Having been in Texas all their life, they are not pitted up like those are. The part numbers are made the same as the ones on eBay.

Yes but I’m out of town with kids. It will be Monday or Tuesday before I’m home.
