AAR hood springs ?

Hi everyone I am building a resto mod with an aftermarket AAR hood I picked up used what springs should I use the aftermarket original style or are you guys using something else thanks
 
This an original T/A hood hinge and spring.It has less tension then a steel hood spring.

I have Harwood 210's on my Challenger with a fiberglass hood.

I was going to try the Harwood 200 because the AAR hood is lighter do not know though
 
Yes, 200's (silver) are a little lighter. Their 215's (black) are heavier than the 210's (gold) that I tried. The 210's are perfect for my modified custom Shaker hood that we made.

Think the 215s would be too much for my T/A? I’m tired of the hood falling down.
 
I'm a cheap bastard and at this point my car is not near original so I am using small diameter trampoline springs. They are perfect length and strength for my aftermarket AAR hood. Hold it up fine and don't seem to put undo stress on it when closed. I ended up with a box of them and would be willing to sell/ship them in pairs. So if anyone is interested, PM me.

I bought a set of Harwood 210's for the TA hood I'm getting ready to put on my Challenger.. do your springs have this wonky angle at the bottom as well?

No, mine don't. It looks like yours may need to be slipped on alittle further up on the hook portion.

They will not go any further in due to that lack of the 90 degree twist. I can push it in further but it just resets to that same position. I don't want these binding or coming off when I try to close the hood. I might need to grab a set of 215's. The TA hood is a bit heavier than the AAR from what I am told anyway and the 215 has that 90 degree twist. If I get hood bowing I'll probably just go without springs and use something like link chain on the hinge to hold the hood open.
 
These are available in the aftermarket to oem specs. The longer spring is T/A and the other is AAR.
