Anyone ever have trouble turning the key far enough to remove it. I shuts off but it stops before it gets to the spot where you can get the key out.

I put in park and turn the key to shut it off and it stops short of being able to remove the key. It is a 70 Challenger key on the column, shifter on the floor.

grab the collar on your column closest to the dash and twist it lightly ccw. If doing that allows you to turn the key and remove, the interlock bushings are likely worn or it needs adjustment.

Might not hurt to shoot a little lock lube in there too but some good advice has been given.

The interlock rods may be missing , they often are , I assume thisw is a 70 as later years had a spring in the collar to rotate it , if the rods are there there is an adjustment for the rod near the frame pivot
