I owned this 71 Cuda for 39 years before selling it off back in 2009.
Ordered it new back in June 1971, so pretty much at the end of the model year.
Was 383 by factory build, but i had 440's in it's later life with 6bbl. carburetion.
The flipper that i sold it to, changed the color from Amber Sherwood Metallic Green to Sassy Grass Green.
Whoever's got it now I'm sure doesn't know that it has 300,000 miles on it.
Raced it all the time back in the day at the Sacramento Raceway.
Was pretty consistent 13.20's at 108 MPH.
EDIT:
The reason that i sold it, was it had 300,000 + thousand miles on it, and it needed work that i never was going to do.
The entire trunk was gone, due to water getting into it from rust areas in the sheet metal at the bottom of the rear glass, and the sides, for years and years.
Plus it was a vinyl top car, trapping moisture, water, rust areas all around the rear glass.
It was time to let it go after 39 years.
After the flipper fixed it up, and sold it, i became very good friends with the guy that bought it, being introduced to one another at a local car show.
Were good friends to this very day.
He sold the car off, quite a few years back.
No one knows where it's now at.
Personally, i liked certain things from 1970 Cuda's than 1971's.
I put on the 383 Hockey Stick decals on the quarter panels, other than 1971 Billboard decals.
And you don't get billboard decals on a vinyl side molding car, which i ordered the car with.
And then a 1970 style rear spoiler, on the trunk lid.
When i converted to 6 bbl. carburetion, i didn't have 6 bbl. automatic transmission kickdown linkage, so i converted to a manual valve body in the transmission, and the 1970 style push button, shift handle.
