I have a situation I'd appreciate some feedback on. I own a 1970 dodge challenger I put a 426 hemi in my car with tti 3 inch headers on the car. The flange on the header and exhaust connection blocks the ability to shift into park because the bracket is basically 1 inch to long when connected to the gear shift shaft. The bracket I have is: https://www.yearone.com/Product/challenger-cuda/tb41 I was wondering if I have a friend machine up a piece that is similar but one inch shorter in length if that would negatively affect my shifter in the car showing the proper gear or mess things up in shifting period. The flange comes about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Thought about grinding away part of the flange but that is a lot of metal to grind and the system was pretty expensive, so I'd prefer not to go that way. I'm sure someone else has had this challenge. The exhaust system was purchased around 2000 so it is an older model. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
