I am new to this forum and currently building my first car (1972 Challenger). I was curious if anybody had any experience with block heaters. Specifically on a 440. I am wanting to use one or two to reduce the warm-up time. I don't want to reduce it because i am impatient and don't want to wait for my car to warm-up. I want to reduce it to reduce wear on the engine. Spcifically the cylinder walls and piston rings. Since, when the car is warming up it is running rich and washing the oil off the cylinder walls. the most common block heaters I see and seeming the most effective are the freeze plug ones. Thanks for your help.
