can anyone tell me where this rattle could be coming from?

noise travels, i would try to isolate it. maybe take one belt at a time off. if you still have this noise than it's not an accessory. i hate to say it but it could be internal engine noise. did this come on all of a sudden

Google mopar On-Line Tech

Ask the tech guru, Rick Ehrenberg..He knows everything worth knowing about mopar.

it started light rattle last week...drove it to work today about 10 miles...it's louder.

will it cause serious damage if not immediately repaired?

I had a similar rattle in my 340 it had a sticking valve & damaged no 3 cam bearing it sounded like a rocker hitting the rocker cover really sounded external was towards the rear like near the middle of the inlet manifold went away once the engine warmed up mainly around 1500 to 2000 rpm

AUSTA said he had a valve train noise. You can remove the valve covers pretty easily and check for any obvious damaged or loose valve train parts. If it is something bad, every time you start the car you are making it worse. It could just be nothing serious, like a muffler bearing going bad.

I haven't run over anything...it's a 4 spd man. It doesn't go away- not sure if it increases w the engine revs (I'm alone) right now-will investigate more tomorrow
The other rattle i had trouble finding was a bolt on the flex plate hit the converter cover once
each turn of the engine have you hit anything under the car & dented the torque converter cover.

well...I feel like an idiot- the belt was dry...sprayed some lube on it and the noise disappeared.
I'm okay with being an idiot w/out an engine problem!

well that is good news! an accessory noise is far better than an internal engine issue any day. i though it sounded like it was coming from the front, but noise travels.

Well good news/bad news....I'm still an idiot!! The PS pulley flew off on my way to a car show. I pulled up to a light-it flew off-light turned red-I picked it up and the belt and continued to the show.
Driving manual steering w a torn rotator cuff was fun...said no one EVER
