Does anyone know the factory size for the speaker in the center of the dash? Is it the same as a B-Body? Restoring a 71 challenger dash and its the only part I'm missing.

If you can, find a good factory speaker or a core factory speaker and have it refurbished. New speaker dimensions are different along with the larger magnet and will not fit into the dash without modifying the metal frame of the dash. If you modify the dash to fit the new speaker, the speaker grille will not fit into the dash.
I had bought new speakers and tried to fit the speaker. I tried every thing to get it to fit. I was not going to modify the dash frame.

Okay I will look for a core. All I have are B bodys and Im not sure they fit I'll have to measure them and the dash was bare when I got it. Im not going to modify the dash at all. I've already had to install vintage air into the car so I'd like to keep it as factory as possible at this point

I have a core and don't plan on using it. $20 shipped and it's yours.

I believe the challenger is larger than the 4x9? I made my own 2-3” speaker frame that fits the center metal cover on my 1966 Charger! Came out perfect. Just have to watch magnet size as too deep Wii hit the radio!

Home | S&M Electro-Tech has 4x10 front dash speakers for $60.95
There is also good info at Classic Car Speakers which is the old SM Electrotech site.
They also sell a dual 3-1/2" cone unit that fits the 4x10 opening.

The RetroSound D-412 4x10 speaker is another alternative.

Who installed the Vintage air?
I bought a strep from tbe same company and it would not fit wasted time and money took my origional am radio and guy in Redwood City foxes tbe wl lighting and turned it into am fm tuner with Sattelite and Blue tooth in my old am box! Sounds wonderfully good. Everyone I hear who buy from these you s has trouble with fitmwnt as they. Pain it’s designed for classics when it’s not. Make your own speaker holder out black abs! That how I did mine then had the radio turned into stereo Bluetooth mp3 and the works for cheap!
