I have a 1970 Challenger Convertible EW1 white that originally came with a white top (V3W). What is the correct material for a replacement top? Crush grain or pinpoint vinyl?

I've seen top companies say different things about what is original. Is there a difference in the shade of white?

I just got a new top on my ‘71 with the correct crush grain. It’s an Electron. Don’t forget to get the new rear window assembly too.

I have an unused NOS top that is the crush grain; not the pin point.

I thought about doing it myself until I found a trim guy that specialized in tops that was very affordable and came to my shop to do it. He did it in 4 or 5 hours and it probably would have taken me 2 days.

What about the power motor for the top? Better to get the factory one rebuilt or just get a new pump/motor and who sells a good one. The top looks awesome detmatt!

I would say you have to find someone to fix the original. Is it completely dead or does the motor spin and it’s just not pumping?

Always good to rebuild the original. Mopar power top motors were basically the same from the early 60's to the early 70's.
I found this vendor I am checking out myself who will rebuild your original for $75. There are also members on this forum who also may offer this service. Just my thoughts.

Ok I am not sure if it works or not, the P.O. had the car in pieces when I got it. Unfortunately he passed away and I got it off Craig’s so not too much other than that. I have my wiper motor at Teds at the moment. If I got it rebuilt I would probably want it refinished like new also. Two tag JS Car

I’d bench test it before I spent a dime on it. If it’s not broke don’t fix it and it’s hidden from site as far as it’s appearances go.
