I have a 71 with the ashtray at the rear of the console. As usual cheaper to have 1 in console than 2, 1 on each rear armrest. Save at every corner they could but charge more.

I have an early '71 Challenger - 8-70 - that came with the seatbelt storage console. Assuming they had a leftover '70 consoles before switching to ashtray console. Found some other '70 pieces installed in the car, as well.

Unfortunately, there must have been a lot of leftover parts during the e-body run...

My September of 1970, 71 Challenger has 70 console ,70 bucket seat backs and 70 interior rear view mirror. It’s a R/T with carpet on the door panels, I have had some people question the door panels.

I also saw a 71 R/T with a VIN less than 100 from mine with the same console, mirror and seat backs but I didn’t lay the door panels because that had not been brought to my attention, I assumed all 71R/Ts had carpeted doors.
