Fender Tags, why?

Do you happen to have retained a fender tag readout or a vin tag number?

I don't believe it had a fender tag. I have only a few pictures of it and it doesn't show up. Don't know the VIN, except for it was a BSH car.

Yes, I was in high school and college when I owned it. Looking back, I realize I was fortunate not to get killed in it. I drove it like I stole it. The 71 Cuda clone I am building now is 10x nicer than my Cuda was, but man I loved my old car.

Thank you, in final stages of block sanding. Installed a Tremek five speed a while back as well. Been side tracked with other projects for a bit. My oldest son, who has never been much of a car guy, has got into Miata's. We have been working together, with him doing most of the work, to get that thing going. It has been fun.

Many of us care about the data tag. Presuming the 1970-71 cars were the cats meow, anything after, the data tag becomes a non-issue. add to that, a present-day era of a notable absence of 1970-71 cars, and yea, the data tag isn't all that, anymore. But is has merit on those earlier cars.

While I agree the `70-71 Mopars had the best options, highest HP etc. I don`t get the thinking that any other year is not worthy, no one cares about numbers and/or has no merit - there are many models pre AND post `70-71 that are highly collectible and worth having fender tags and other documentation for. I would value a `74 360, 4 speed `cuda over a `70 slant six model Barracuda.

I too would love to own one of the 74 360 D21 cars. Awesome combo!
And the 360 D21 combo in 74, one of the best small block combos available on the barracuda's.

Let's not forget that in 1972, the barracuda could come with a sunroof.
I've been searching for a 72 with the sunroof for years .
To top that off, the V21 hood blackout treatment that only came in 72 would be awesome to find on a sunroof car.

I had an opportunity to buy a 72 with a sunroof and V21 treatment. It was maybe 15 years ago and the price was astronomical compared to all the other 72-74 cuda's for sale. Still would have a hard time justifying that price.

So, three more codes to add to the "collectible" later year barracuda's.

on any sunroof cars that are not 1972 I would very much enjoy decoding and learning about the car.

Since I'm showing a few pictures of the V21 cars I must mention that the grills would all be painted body color on the V21 cars. Some examples have argent grills though. Anyone have docs that show both colored grills available on V21's?

That leads us into the key colored grills on the 72-74 cars. I would think this adds significant value to the later year cars. Definitely is a striking look.

Also, I need to add that FENDER TAGS do not carry the M51/M52 code. The first way to tell if the car is a true sunroof car is the VON (second line from bottom, Last set of number/letter combinations on right, above serial number) is to look at the fender tag von number and if it begins with a "G" followed by 5 numbers the car was to receive a sunroof modification.

Second way to uncover if a car was a sunroof car is to view the broadcast sheet.
Third, build sheet.
Fourth, window sheet/monroney report.

If anyone has any information contrary to the above statements please show and explain. Very little information exists about the actual CUDAS with G VON's.

Challengers had multiple years for sunroof cars , M51,M52. Different rules apply.

Fender tag question is a pandora's box.
The question goes even deeper than just the fender tag and works it's way into all the documentation of each individual car.
Specifically about the more valuable codes that can make a standard car worth more with it's tag present but lose value without that same fender tag.
