Flip Fuel Cap Adaptable?

I have a '71 Challenger with a stock fuel cap but am considering changing to the chrome flip fuel cap. As anyone done this? Is it a straight across change, or does it require modification? Thanks.

Just to be specific. The flip top cap is not a fuel cap. It is a cover for a fuel cap. You need the trim ring, cap cover and cap. 1971 is unique. It an emission type cap. The trim ring, flip-top cover will fit 70-74 but the cap itself is 71 only. Hard to find the cap. The cap screws into the neck and seals the tank. The flip-top cover has a rubber umbrella seal that seals the keyed portion of the locking cap. Here are some photos for the non believers:
