Im wondering is it possible to replace the driverside frame rail with the drive train still installed. Has anyone replaced a frame rail from under car, on your back. I have a frame rail that appears to be corroded internaly and has a longitudenal crack just above the lower edge runningbetween the aft mount bolt rearward. its all jagged like a rusty tear. Not happy. But I have to deal with it. So Looking for some experiance. Thanks

The answer is no. You have to take the car apart. You may be able to repair the rail with out replacing all of it.

Radiator and A/C condensor (if it has one) also. The frame is like a building foundation. Everything goes on top of it. The whole car needs supported on a flat surface so that the new rail is not installed on an angle. 1/4 of an inch off on one end can equal a few inches off on the other end. Don't raise the front and leave the car on tires in the rear. You can take measurements and have the car change (twist) if a tire looses some air. That is why the whole car has to be supported. Once you get the car apart you may find that you can repair part of the frame rail. If you can, it is the way to go because you do not have to redo everything. I would consider it more of a tedious job than a difficult job. It is a project. Take your time and do it carefully and you will be fine.
