I took apart the outside pieces of my 6.4 for coatings. Once I removed the balancer, I noticed that there's no keyway. Is there a correct position for replacement, or just neutral balanced and slides on anywhere?
:icon_scratch: :confused3:
Thanks.

Good question. I never removed mine. An ignorant guess would be as long as you haven't rotated the crank and are sure you can realign it to where it was when you removed it I guess it's the way to go. Did you mark any place for reference before you removed it. I'm sure someone will chime in with a more intelligent answer.

Thanks. The engine hasn't been rotated, but I assumed there'd be a keyway.......we all know how assumption works. sigh.

The crank position is done with a sensor - so there's no need to key it to line it up with anything. It's just a harmonic dampener.
