Good evening from Alaska

Welcome. This is a great site. Lots of great information. Someone here will always have an answer to your questions.
I’m from Alaska also. Left in 1986 for warmer weather.
One thing we are all looking forward too…will you be putting tire chains on your car in February when the snow gets really deep?
Good evening Eleven inches last night, First real snow we have had. go figger

Yeah! That's what I would say. A month or more ago the first one in a 2 day period that's about what we got. Hoping no more will come in feet.

It's Heads up around here when they say. lake effect snow or nor'easter. Hoping the Great lakes freeze over soon.

As you probably know it gets to cold to snow. Everything is frozen over. I told that to a boss one time and he didn't believe me. Until he experienced it. Todays high 10 below with out windchill.

We were working in a power plant switch and a control yard. It had a dead line of completion. If not connected it would be a year until the line was shut down. There would be a million dollar a day fine until it was hooked up.
A little humor here.
I pulled up along side the truck. My son put the window down. I told him I'm not working today in this. We won't get nothing done. Work 10- 15 minutes then warm up. Been there done that! I said to him. You know they put people in jail for treating dogs like that! He said with a laugh. Everyone else laughed. WOW! a few time. Then ask my son. Are you going to work? He replied. I'M with him! I told him this is the 2nd day of work I missed in 25 years. He said they were going to work. Well they didn't the job got shut down from above.
