I’ve recently acquired a 71 Challenger that was in the beginning stage of a rotisserie restoration when the owner decided it was too much to deal with. I’ve waited for the right deal to come and my patience has paid off. The car came with every single piece of Goodmark sheet metal you can buy, including the rotisserie stand! The restoration began some 13 years ago when all the sheet metal was purchased. The original 383/727 power plant has been lost from the car in the initial stage of the restriction so it’s not going to be a numbers matching car. However I have a 383 HP 2468301 stamp motor and has 906 heads that I’ll rebuild for it. I want to put a A833 4-speed in place of the automatic originally. The rear end is a 489 stamp, 2.76 non-posi, didn’t come with the sure-grip as that will be upgraded with the proper sure-grip spindle and go with 3.55 gears. I have plans to build an R/T tribute car with this and change the original color from Bright Red to Hemi Orange, my all time favorite.
I thought this would be a great place to share this build, and gain the knowledge needed from all the good folks here so again, I want to thank you for the membership. I’m ready to have some fun folks!

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! It doesn’t look like it really needs all that metal that came with it.

Thank you. It does look good from the photos as the complete floor has been removed and blasted everything and primed. Then the the the new floor was tacked in, and that’s where it stopped. So the car originally had a vinyl top, rusted through while sitting and rusting the whole floor and trunk. Back seat frames are toast as well and rocker panels front and back. Fire wall is marginal but have all the new metal to replace it. Buckets are good and both doors are good inside and out. Pics show the new roof skin strapped on top of the car. Deck lid survived but have a new one without luggage rack holes. Front of the car survived except the front fenders. The original hood is good but have Rallye hood now. The red right front fender is a 72, and will be up for grabs along with the 72 front bumper and grill assembly that came as parts with the car. Maybe the guy was gonna use them on this but, that won’t work for me. I already bought a 71 front grille and got a nearly new complete rallye dash assembly. Both rear quarters could possibly be saved but I have new ones to make the entire car new from the roof back. Gonna replace them one panel at a time for proper fit. The car will be 90-95% new. Stay tuned it’s gonna be great!
