Definitely save the original 318! And if the machine shop has a great reputation, $7k isn't too expensive this day and age.

Thanks! Yes FK5. I’m definitely keeping the original engine and tranny. Maybe 7k isn’t too bad but more than I wanted to spend right now.

The top appears to be painted. Is this a V02 car with an X9 top color?
What color is the interior? Would love to decode the fender tag.
Did your barn find come with any of the original paperwork?
Broadcast sheet, window sticker, ordering form, etc.etc. ?

Your ride looks to be in great shape!
Still retains it's V5x and looks like the pin stripping around it is in great shape as well. Very often both of these items are gone from these cars.

Curious, has it had one repaint? I don't see a pentastar on the passengers fender is why I ask, and it looks to be in great shape!

Hi, thanks! Yes the top was painted black for some reason. It’s in great shape so I don’t know why they painted it…white would look much better. I do have the build sheet. The interior is light burnt orange. The seats were recovered at some point. Hope to have it on the road late summer 2026. We’ll see.

Get the Moog K7103 offset bushings for the upper control arms! That way you can get more caster and camber! Old Mopars can be made to handle great!
