Hello E-Buddies! ✋:)

I have always loved the E-Body Rallye hoods, but unfortunately, my own 1970 Barracuda currently has a flat hood, and that despite it WAS "born" with a Rallye hood. As I really love this car, I would like to correct that little "missunderstanding" that has happened at some point, since 1970!

I already imported one Rallye hood this, (bought at a super reasonable price, from a kind and very helpful US seller). BUT unfortunately, and unbeknownst to seller!! - upon closer inspection, at preparation for paint, it turned out to be "corroded thin" from the inside 😪 - As my Barracuda is 99% rust free, I am willing to bite the dust, and find a better one! If not, I would think to much abt when the thin one would start bubbleing, so I hope some kind E-Buddy is willing to sell me a nice rust free, preferably original hood!

It will need to be shipped to South Carolina, but I might be able to arrange that from over here!

Actually, in case theres no original / used hood to buy.. comments on "OMD fitment" would be welcome too, but I probably need to fish after such comments in another post, (as per "sales add comment rules") 🤠

Thnx in advance!

Sorry bout late reply, but work is killing me these days.. - $ 350 sounds great, and a very fair price.. But as we say here, "brændt barn skyr ilden".. which roughly translates to "Burnt child fear fire", so I would love to see some close pic's of underside edges, threaded mounting holes, and general understructure.. if possible, just to be sure.. I hope that is OK with you!

Do you know any "history" of this hood.. Is it an original - Have you owned it long - Has it been in Arizona always (which would be great) - Do you have some thick card board, to wrap it in..?

Thanks in advance !

Thank you sir.. will reply ASAP, but has to "tend to offspring" for now..

Washed my beloved cuda right after work, in an attempt to forget the "work horrors" of today.. I was a bit scared when I bought it, at I had some "reservations" abt red care, but now, I think it looks SO good, but also that the hood is VERY flat! 😉

I also checked out your HEMI cab website, and MAN, that is one sweet ride!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

In my Mopar-eyes, VERY few convertible cars look as good, as Cuda's and Challenger's.. !!!

I hope to get one.. some sunny day!

Crumple lines on sides, and 3 holes in front.
COPIED FROM CUDA CHALLENGER E-BODIES:
early "non-crush-zone" hoods have 5/16" hinge mounting bolts
the vast majority of "crush-zone" hoods have 3/8" hinge mounting bolts (arrived spring 1970 model year)

the 3 "round" reliefs for the "PLYMOUTH" emblem in the lower stamping arrived early in the 1971 model year

early hoods have 4 "rectangular" cutouts on each side, in the lower stamping - I don't know when these disappeared in the 1970-1974 production

I suppose that it will fit on my 1970, despite the changes made in 1971.. will check up on that too !!

If you are not concerned about originality, all of the 70 -74 hoods are interchangeable.

Will send PM, and ask for payment info.. ;-) And writing the guy I bought the other hood from, to ask for information on what company he used for "land freight", as it was both it was cheap and fast!

Thanks again Chuck..! I almost can't wait to get the hood issue sorted! 🤪

Thnx Lee.. That was what I thought, from variou sellers of repop hoods. All say "70-74".. I am quite OK with the added "crumblezone", (god forbid it ever need's crumbling though), but will probably delete the emblem pin holes.. 😉
