Doesn't look like anything is actually broken, but the metal plate fell off. Looking at the other vents, I can not tell how this metal plate stays on unless the tops of the plastic pins are melted down onto the metal plate just enough to hold them in place but not stick to it and continue Chally Vent.jpg to let them pivot. Any repair techniques would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Pretty sure you are right, tops of pins are melted to keep it on. You could use a soldering iron and some extra ABS plastic to weld/melt little knobs on the ends.

Yep, looked real close at the other double louver vent and it does have the tops of those plastic pins melted down. Maybe just the ends, not the middle ones? - hard to tell. Not sure I can mend this in a way to keep it operational as you noted - no skills in that department. May just lock it up in a neutral position and leave it. Seems the only real fix is to switch out the louver assembly.

Wouldn’t some superglue work the same? On the ends of the rods
