Hence, my recommendation for some dyno time. It will indicate a bad converter in nothing flat. And most other engine and transmission issues as well.

Either dyno time with a good operator that knows his job, or an experienced muscle car mechanic. Either one should be able to get to the bottom of the problem.

Just look at all the different directions that have been proposed here. And many of them could possibly be the problem. Not to mention all the other possibilities that could cause the problem. How about an improperly installed cam? Tooth off? Not degreed properly, if at all. Just to name one problem that the OP doesn't sound like he could find and fix.

The OP needs hands-on help for this issue. This is unlikely to be diagnosed over the internet.

That's my two cents.

Thanks 540 and everyone else. BTW, I do have a great mechanic to help me, albeit he's not a MOPAR guy, so the information here is invaluable. I'm pretty sure we have a stock TC.

The plan is to do the compression and leak down test first. Next, he has a very experienced person to get the dyno run performed who will also look at the timing and optimize the EFI tuning. If all is well, probably start out with a stall converter change. TBD. I'll post the results.

Compression test looks great. Made a few dyno pulls and the EFI was optimized. 446 Torque and 337 RWHP results look great. Pedal response is much better. Kickdown was changed between 3 and 2. Timing was adjusted from 13 to 15. Overall, it feels much better. Recommendation was for a 2200-2400 stall converter, but I think I'm happy for the time being.

Thanks everyone.

Compression range all look good, but the overall numbers look a bit low, but that’s all highly component dependent and it may be best for your setup.

Your resulting rear wheel numbers do look very respectable.

So just some fine tuning to get improvements. Glad to hear that is all it took.
