Hi, I've tried searching and nothing seems to come up. I recently purchased a damaged 2010 Chrysler 300 for the motor in my hemi swap. I will be pulling the motor and doing a quick refresh on it. While doing so I plan to do the MDS delete on it and was wondering if anyone has found a good kit that comes with a performance cam? I've found a few kits but they don't appear to have performance cams in them or any sort of upgrade. I'm not looking for crazy hp changes, but would like to see if I can at least get the car motor closer to the truck motor in terms of HP and Tq. Any other suggestions would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks.

Summit has a listing of cams for the gen 3 Hemi in there new catalog on page 174.

You might try looking at MMX or Flyin Ryan Performance, Texas Speed also has kits and CAMs. Just a few off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are others.

I know Heminut put the stock 6.4L camshaft in his 5.7L that's in his 70 Cuda and it's pretty badass! 😀

Have you heard it in person? I really don't mind the idea of using the 6.4 camshaft and springs, especially when looking at the prices compared to some other cams with similar performance. Being in Canada we really don't have too many good sources to order from online. The one thing is I would like to have at least a tiny bit of a lumpy cam sound to it. Try to keep it from sounding too much like a modern hemi and keep a bit of that muscle car feel.

Yes, I've heard it in person! And it sounds a little lumpy! Definitely can tell it's not your standard 5.7L!

Awesome! Thank you for the reply. I've tried listening to every sound bite I can off of youtube for them but you really can't count on the sound quality.

Actually, what I put in my 5.7 (a 2004 engine) was a factory 6.1 Hemi cam. back then Comp Cams were the only ones making performance cams for the Gen lll hemis and they were expensive! The 6.1 cam was available from dealers on Ebay for $140 and the cams had about .100 more lift than the stock 5.7 cam. All the valve springs also had to be changed to 6.1 Hemi EXHAUST valve springs, which could be bought on Ebay for $80. It was a pretty inexpensive swap compared to Comp's $400+ price for just the cam. The engine does have a nice lope to it and it is pretty healthy too!

That being said, I'm not sure that cam would even work in a 2010 engine, there were some changes made around 2008-2009.

Yes, 09 was when the Eagle hemi replaced the earlier version. Heads and various other things were changed to bring the hp way up.
