Looking online all I find is seat foam for 70 and 71 Cudas. Will those work on my 74 seats or can someone point me in the right direction for the correct ones?

Thanks

Thanks. My seats are still intact for the most part but the centers are torn up and some of the foam is starting to fall apart. I am contemplating recovering the seats myself (I recovered the seats in my 04 Dodge Ram with leather) but I have never done seats that required the use of the hogrings. Don't know if I feel confident enough to do these. On the bright side, if they don't make the seat foams then that is less $$$ that it will cost me...:icon_super::icon_super:

Hey dodgezilla, I had the same problem with my 73 challenger seats, they were the injected type where the bottom seat bun could be replaced but the back portion was literally formed onto the seat frame and nobody makes a replacement type. After doing what I could research wise I found a good video on Youtube that legendary auto interiors did on a 1973 challenger/cuda and decided to tackle it myself. now I have no experience doing upholstery I grew up on a farm.

what they did was add in 1/4 inch foam on the bottom bun on the middle section and both side bun sections. then they did the same thing adding in a 1/4 section for the upper portion middle area, then on big portion for the surrounding top and side areas. So I tackled this myself with my seats and I was quite impressed on how they came out, the hog ringing is very easy but I recommend getting 300 or so if your going to do it as I ran out and couldn't find the right ones at any part store (home depot, lowes, tractor supply, big r(Colorado feed/tack store)

I will post a link of the video and pictures of how I did on my front and rear seats on my challenger project for you below.

The one bottom bun and back I got off eBay from an ol duster but it was the same frame/foam. The bottom bun I did put the regular 1/4 foam but on the right side it was missing a small chunk so I used some of the cotton type foam from the rear seat to patch it in then put the 1/4 foam overtop.
If you have any questions let me know I will try and help.

Thanks. I decided not to tackle this myself and have already dropped the seats off at the upholstery shop. He is charging me about $100 extra to have to deal with fixing the foam. That's cheaper than buying the seat foams. ;)

Looks like you did a nice job there. I don't think I have the patience anymore for a job like this....

Great info.
I am getting ready to do the seats in my 73 Challenger.
I am waiting for my Legendary covers to arrive.
Where do you get the 1/2 "foam ?
What kind of spray adhesive did you use ?
Some types will eat the foam
