oil filter

Would it be okay to use a smaller engine oil filter instead of the stock sized bigger one?

if so, anything else I need to consider to offset a smaller filter?

I must've blocked it out of my brain because i don't recall how much of a hassle it was to remove the engine oil filter from my 70 challenger (360 crate). I have TTI headers and not much clearance for access. Other than puncturing it and then working it off I could not get that thing off with any of the filter removal tools i have.

Most header installations almost demand the shorter filter due to clearance. If your filter is that hard to get off then it may have been tightened too much when installed.
