Ok what the F just happened! Blew the battery caps off!

Hydrogen gas is why caps pop off, cars catch fire, acid caused paint damage, electronics damaged.
Charge out of the car, where there is good ventilation.

And ALWAYS unplug the charger from it's power source before disconnecting the clamps from the battery!
