Original color of booster?

I pulled the booster assembly to paint the engine bay. 71 challenger R/T. While its out, I stripped it to repaint it also. Was this originally gloss black, or satin? It was caked with crap before I stripped it so I'm not sure of its color but tend to think it was gloss.
Also the master cyl was not painted. Doe's this get any paint?

That's funny!
But my power brake booster was gloss black and the master cylinder has no paint at all.
Brake fluid removes paint.
