Just wondering if the door hinges on my 74 Barracuda were originally painted the body color, plated or left raw? I recently saw photos of a Cuda reported to have been restored to a very high standard, and noticed the door hinges were not painted. Is that correct?

They were installed on the body before it was painted, always. Should be painted the same way, installed before painting.
The lower hinge doesn't look right. It is either in stalled on the wrong side and/or someone installed a bushing in the lower hinge which is incorrect and wil cause problems down the road.

The hinges wear out with time and age, and the door sags. When they get rebuilt/restored AFTER paint, be it original or recent paint, repainting the restored hinges the body color is a step painful to complete.

Your paint looks gorgeous, and I'm guessing it's not the original paint. And it looks like the hinges were serviced AFTER the last paint job.

It doesn't really show, and it's not a big deal, unless you're restoring a 100-point show car.

If your paint color matches a factory color, you may be able to remove those guys, and paint them using a rattle can touch paint of the same color, and reinstall them for a better look.

The car in the photo is for sale at some extraordinary price, and the seller was quite proud of the job!
