Before I call I want to know if this is easily fixed . This is a Saginaw pump , " canned ham style " , looks great but the top bolt has gaps in it , do I just add washers to tighten it up , the bottom bolt fits but it hits the motor and I can't fit the belt on at all , do I just get a bigger belt , any opinions welcomed , here are some pics .

Before you run with my suggestion, are you sure you are using the correct bracket? If your absolutely sure…..

Measure that gap, and cut a small piece of stainless tubing that slides over that bolt to fill that space.

Thinking you need to flip the back bracket. That might be the problem if I remember. Or is the the alternator I'm thinking of.

I ordered it from 440Source thinking its right , so not mad it doesn't match up perfectly just want to know if its ok to add a bushing and bigger belt .

I don't think it would thread correctly then , but will look again , I'm always out in the garage looking but it has been super cold here in the Midwest .

don't know where the water pump housing came from but on my big blocks the boss that the bracket bolts to appears to be too short. I would try some bushings and for the belt try one a half inch longer.
