A little late on this but, Power steering pumps on Mopars are a study with some confusion. Most Mopars were using Saginaw pumps by 1974, though Federal pumps were showing up as late as 1973:

Here is a little history on this:

There is 3 types , Federal , TRW & the Saginaw & they use different brackets to mount , as far as I know the TRW was the early one used in the 60s , Federal was used into the early 70s , & Saginaw after that , the change over seems vague , some seemed to be still using Federal into 73 while other 70/71s use the Saginaw originally . TRW & Federal used a round neck , Sag used an oval neck , later they use a water drop shaped reservoir which will interchange with the oval neck reservoir .
No difference in performance , seal kits are available for all of them , Saginaw is more common being used into the mid 80s or later & may be cheaper to buy .There is 3 types , Federal , TRW & the Saginaw & they use different brackets to mount , as far as I know the TRW was the early one used in the 60s , Federal was used into the early 70s , & Saginaw after that , the change over seems vague , some seemed to be still using Federal into 73 while other 70/71s use the Saginaw originally .
